High Priestess of the Crescent Moon--A Novel by Barry Webb

The protagonist in this based-on-history story, Adad Guppi, was (and still is) the most influential woman in all of history.  There is no one else even remotely close.

Orphaned at birth, Adad Guppi is raised in the court of her father’s killer, her ruthless uncle Ashurbanipal, king of Assyria, and king of the Universe.  At a young age she rises in the king’s favor due to her wisdom, and the voice of the Moon God who speaks through her.  

An older cousin, Makruba-Sirrushu, who is also a daughter of the king by a consort, grows envious of Adad Guppi’s rise and vows revenge—even if it leads to civil war within Assyria and civilizational war involving all relevant powers of the 7th century B.C. world.  As Adad Guppi struggles to escape sacrifice to an alien god at the hands of her nemesis, Babylonians, Assyrians, Medes, Scythians, Judeans, and Egyptians come together in a climatic battle that changes the course of world history.

Romance, palace intrigues, bizarre religious rituals, kinky sex, violence, and harrowing escapes—it’s all here in "HIGH PRIESTESS OF THE CRESCENT MOON."
